I've been reminded several times and it's a bit troubling. Summer is coming to an end and the leaf falling, costume wearing and apple cider drinking season is on its way. The best part of fall is hands down the fashion. I get a wind sweeping tingle at my first glimpse of boots.
Despite the delights of this dual named season, nothing fathomable will ever come between me and my summer. If the shorts and sun-kissed skin don't get you maybe the beach and this chair where I lay for part of my summer will...
I only get a few weeks out of the whole year with this chair and then we part our ways. There's a certain falling in love which develops while I lay there. It has nothing and everything to do with nothing and everything. I know it sounds silly but it's the truth. There are moments when I consider it a cruel love because I won't ever feel that way again until I return to the chair.
And that, my friends, is the poetic story about me and my summer. Hope it made you feel a little warm inside.
Fast forward through the long nights and senseless conversations, several ice cream cones and beach towels later, and you have found yourself at the end of summer. You're so excited to start wearing your new fall clothes but also want to live up the 80 degree weather still playing by mother nature. I say, give your summer wardrobe one last hurrah and pick your favorites to wear (or the ones with the tags still on them- oopsies).
For the last call, I choose these from my imaginary closet...
